Woodwind Quintet Ariel Winds To Perform At The Clark April 21

The all-female woodwind quintet Ariel Winds will perform at the Clark Art Institute on Sunday, April 21, at 3:00 p.m. On the program are Three Shanties for Wind Quartet by Malcolm Arnold, Quintet for Winds-Fúvósötös by Endre Szervánszky, Quintett, Op. 79 by August Klughardt, and Quintette (en forme de Choros) by Heitor Villa Lobos. Tickets are $10 ($8 for members and students) and are available at the Clark museum shop or by calling 413-458-2303, extension 324.
Quintet members are: Adi Menczel, flute; Sarah Johnson, oboe; Anthea Jackson, clarinet; Jennifer Rhodes, bassoon; and Misty Tolle Pereira, horn.
Founded at the Juilliard School in 1998, Ariel Winds consider themselves "messengers of music," and have performed at Alice Tully Hall, the Smithsonian's Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, Steinway Hall, and the 2000 Chamber Music America Conference. The ensemble is currently in residence in Stephenville, Texas, as part of a Chamber Music America Rural Residency that includes public performances, classroom teaching, and community outreach.
