Free Drop-in Watercolor Workshop at the Clark
Offers Artistic Inspiration to All Ages
For Immediate Release
June 19, 2013
WILLIAMSTOWN, MA—Plenty is happening at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute this summer—and not all of it is in the galleries. Free drop-in watercolor workshops will be held every Tuesday in July from 2-6 pm and every Saturday in August from 10 am-2 pm. Local artists Andrew Davis and Claire Fox will provide instruction.
Designed for people of all ages and skill levels, the workshop encourages artists to observe and paint the abundant natural beauty throughout the Clark's campus. Artists can drop in at any time during workshop hours and can receive as little or as much instruction as they desire. All materials are provided.
Andrew Davis, director of Davis Art Services in North Adams, Massachusetts, specializes in organizing and curating independent art exhibitions. At the Clark, Davis is an invaluable resource in planning exhibition spaces. He creates miniature exhibitions to scale, allowing curators to see an accurate model of what an exhibition will look like before installation. Claire Fox, also of Davis Art Services, earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in fine arts at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. She teaches art to special populations, including veterans, with the Vermont Arts Exchange and also works with elementary school children in conjunction with IS 183.
