Guitarist Ged Foley and fiddler Sandy Jones will perform in the second "Celtic Music for the Millennium" concert at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute on Saturday, February 5, at 8:00 p.m. The duo, both members of the acclaimed Irish group The House Band, will share a double bill with fiddler player Kevin Burke. Tickets are $15 ($10 for members, $8 for children) and are available at the Clark Museum Shop, Cold Spring Coffee Roasters in Williamstown, Wood Brothers Music in Pittsfield, and Papyri Books in North Adams.

Foley and Jones teamed up in 1999 and perform a variety of music drawn from the north east England, Ireland, Scotland, and beyond. Foley is known for his guitar playing and has also been praised as a "strong unaffected singer" (The Washington Post). He co-founded The House Band and has been a member of the Irish "supergroup" Patrick Street since 1994. Jones, a native of South Carolina, toured with The House Band in 1994 and became a full-fledged member of the group in 1998.

Fellow fiddler Kevin Burke has said of Jones, "it's a pleasure to hear such a thoughtful approach to music." Burke hailed as "probably the greatest Irish fiddler living" (The Village Voice) will also appear on February 5. The concert is the second in the Celtic Music series which began in January with critically acclaimed, standing-room-only performance by Lunasa. The remaining concerts will be Anam, "one of the world's most accomplished and fastest-rising acts in the Celtic genre," on March 11, and Kila, called "the future of Irish music" by Hot Press, on March 25.

The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts.  The galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free through May.  For more information call 413-458-2303 or visit www.clarkart.edu.
