Stump the Clark's Curators at Free "Art Buzz" on July 20

For Immediate Release

July 05, 2006

Witness the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute’s curators in rare form as they compete in “Art Buzz,” a game show style competition bringing out the true personalities of these often reserved experts. This free event will test the expertise and nerve of the Clark’s curators on Thursday, July 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Admission to “Art Buzz” is free and guests will enjoy light snacks and a cash bar.

Pitting Clark staff against each other in an entertaining competition, Art Buzz will feature curator of education Michael Cassin, assistant curator of education Danielle Steinmann, senior curator Richard Rand, and curator of decorative arts Kathleen Morris as contestants. The audience will choose works of art in the Clark collection about which a curator will have one minute to speak. The fun begins when a curator pauses, repeats, or strays from the topic, causing them to be “buzzed,” at which time another curator will step up to the “hot seat.” Laugh at the curators, vote for the winner, all while learning about art.

“Art Buzz” is co-sponsored by the Berkshire Young Professionals. For more information about this networking group, visit
