Dear Mr Adams
I arrived home to-day after being away from home since Feby 28th. From long experience I have found that my mail is of no particular consequence & I ordered it kept for me until I returned. I find amond [sic] my letters one from you enclosing check (for which please find receipt) that should have been promptly & gratefully acknowledged & I regret that I did not receive it when sent
I am extremely obliged to you both for your purchase of the picture & your gift of the frame.
