Library Services
Open Access
The library's non-circulating collection is arranged in open stacks on four
floors; all users of the library are welcome to browse and to work on all
four levels.
Reference
Reference assistance is available by phone (413-458-0532),
by e-mail (The Library), or in person. The reference desk is
located on the lobby level across from the main entrance to the library and
is staffed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Photocopying
Black-and-white or color photocopies are available upon request for a fee, with mailing service or a next-day turnaround time for more than 10 pages.
Digital imaging
Digital imaging facilities in the Visual Resources library are available for patrons needing scans or photographs of images for non-commercial uses. Patrons may use the scanners by appointment. Copystand digital photography and scanning may be provided by Visual Resources staff on a fee-per-image basis. Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan service is available, free of charge, to:
- Clark staff
- Williams College faculty
- Williams College students enrolled in graduate art courses
- Visiting Scholars
ILL requests can be made by e-mail (Interlibrary Loan), by putting paper forms or database printouts in the basket on the reference desk, or through the ILLiad online request service (account required).
If you qualify for interlibrary loan but do not have an ILLiad account, or if you forget your password, e-mail Interlibrary Loan or call 413-458-0532 for more information.
The Clark library is a member of OCLC, and of the SHARES library consortium. We will consider lending to non-SHARES libraries under the following conditions:
- Items borrowed are strictly IN-LIBRARY USE ONLY.
- Items are shipped by traceable carrier, packed in boxes.
- The borrowing library takes full responsibility for the care and shipping of any item loaned, and for replacement or repair if the item is lost or damaged.
