Unearthed:
Recent Archaeological Discoveries from
Northern China
June 16, 2012 - October 21, 2012
In 1908, the Institute’s founder Sterling Clark organized a scientific expedition to North China to document the region’s terrain and ecology. To commemorate the centennial of this journey, in 2008 the Institute initiated a series of collaborations with Chinese arts agencies and museums. This cultural exchange initiative culminates at the Clark this summer with a special presentation of recent archaeological discoveries from the Shanxi and Gansu provinces never before seen outside of China.

Unearthed was organized by the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute in association with Art Exhibitions China and is supported by the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
