Angela Rosenthal, assistant professor of art history at Dartmouth College, is the author of Angelika Kauffmann: Bildnismalerei im 18. Jahrhundert (Reimer Press, 1996) a book presently being reworked for publication in English. The Other Hogarth: Aesthetics of Difference, a collection of essays she coedited with Bernadette Fort, appeared with Princeton University Press last year. At the Clark, Rosenthal will complete her manuscript The White Enlightenment: Racializing Bodies in Eighteenth-Century British Art, a project presenting the representation of skin and the attending racialization of whiteness in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century European visual culture.
