Claudia Einecke

Claudia Einecke is associate curator of European art at the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, Nebraska. At the Clark, she will complete her catalogue essay for the Joslyn's monographic exhibition on Jean Léon Gérôme, an extensive investigation into the painter's role as agent between the established academic practices of the period and the then newer language of photography. Einecke's most recent publications include the exhibition catalogue Final Moments: Peyron, David, and "The Death of Socrates" (Joslyn Art Museum, 2001) and "Beyond Seeing: The Somatic Experience of Landscape in the 'School of 1830'" in Barbizon: Malerei der Natur und Natur der Malerei (Munich: Klinkhardt Biermann, 1999).
