Susan Siegfried

Susan L. Siegfried is professor of the history of art and women’s studies at the University of Michigan. Her recent publications include Ingres: Painting Reimagined (2009) and Staging Empire: Napoleon, Ingres, and David (co-author, 2006). At the Clark, she will be developing a research project on clothing as an object of fantasy in representations of women in the visual arts of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries in France, England, and Germany.
