Catch an intimate glimpse of the long-term friendship between American artist Leonard Baskin and the British poet Ted Hughes. This will be the first American viewing of the fascinating documentary video The Artist and the Poet: Leonard Baskin and Ted Hughes in Conversation. The documentary is comprised of images set to an audio recording of Baskin and Hughes captured by their mutual friend, filmmaker Noel Chanan in 1983. In this wonderfully relaxed conversation the two talk about their friendship, artistic collaborations, and the influence they had on one another's work. The recordings are particularly revealing about their differing conceptions of the crow. The video will be followed by a conversation with Lisa Baskin and Jay A. Clarke, Manton Curator of Prints Drawings and Photographs at the Clark.
