Bring your family and friends, a picnic basket, and a blanket to the Clark for this free outdoor concert by the popular family bluegrass band The Doerfels. The five exceptional Doerfel siblings brought audience members to their feet when they performed at the Clark in 2009, and this year’s concert promises to be just as much fun for the whole family.
Barbecue fare will be available for purchase and the galleries will remain open until 6:00 pm. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the auditorium.
One of today’s most exciting and unique groups, The Doerfels perform lively progressive acoustic music that is a blend of rock, bluegrass, gospel, country, and jazz. The Goldwing Express calls the band “a force to be reckoned with.” The Doerfels consists of the oldest sibling and leader TJ on banjo, Kim on the fiddle, Eddy on mandolin, Joey on bass and cello, and Ben on guitar. In the last three years, these talented young musicians have performed more than 200 concerts a year, and have shared the stage with artists like Ricky Skaggs, Asleep At The Wheel, and The Isaacs. The summer band concert series is sponsored by Williamstown Savings Bank.
