Suzanne Preston Blier (Beinecke Fellow) is Allen Whitehill Clowes Professor of Fine Arts and of African and African American Studies at Harvard University. Books includeAfrican Vodun: Art, Psychology, and Power (Charles Rufus Morey Prize winner), The Anatomy of Architecture: Ontology and Metaphor in Batammaliba Architectural Expression (Arnold Rubin Prize winner), African Royal Arts: the Majesty of Form (Choice Prize) and Art and Risk in Ancient Yoruba (Cambridge forthcoming). She is on the board of directors of the College Art Association and chairs the Steering Committee of WorldMap, an open source mapping website that she helped to create.
