ufology keepsake, by christine kermaire
Christine Kermaire, Ufology Keepsake. (Charleroi: C. Kemaire, [2000])
The book, which has a nautical theme, is housed in a painted synthetic case covered in fabric. The hinged box is fastened shut with a cord wrapped in a nautical fashion around a metal hook on one side of the box. The book is one signature, with a hand-sewn binding, bound along the top edge to a plastic tube through which a colored cloth is run. Materials used to make the book include offset lithographs, letterpress, paper, Mylar, colored sand, plastic resin, collage, wood, fabric, and stainless steel hardware. The first page/front cover of the booklet contains (written in sand) the words: "oeuvres mortes / oeuvres vives."
The Clark has two of the 309 copies made; copy 1 includes a holiday card from the year 2000 from the artist.
