At the Clark, we love talking about paintings, prints, and drawings. But for this First Sunday Free, we are excited to talk about something that is often overlooked—the frame! In addition to their often-ornate decoration, frames serve an important function: defining what we can and cannot see. Take a viewfinder into the galleries and discover interesting compositions all around you. Decorate a frame to take home for your own photo or artwork. Join us in the galleries at 1 pm and 3 pm for in-depth conversations about the styles and materials of select French frames with Hugh Glover, former conservator of furniture and frames at the Williamstown + Atlanta Art Conservation Center. This exciting discussion looks at frames in the Clark’s collection that span 150 years. It is sure to "reframe" the way you see art!
Free. Capacity is limited for the 1 pm and 3 pm frame tours; pick up a ticket at the Clark Center admissions desk, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Family programs are generously supported by Allen & Company.
