In this three-part series, curator Alexis Goodin highlights the important work of women artist-activists over time.

In the second talk of the series, Goodin explores the efforts women artists contributed to the suffrage movement in Britain. Whether writing letters to newspaper editors, demonstrating in marches, or creating posters and postcards for suffrage societies, Mary Lowndes, Louise Jopling, and Annie Swynnerton, among many others, worked for voting rights for women in Britain while balancing their careers as professional artists. A buffet breakfast follows the program.

Advance registration required. Capacity is limited. To register, email [email protected] or call 413 458 0425.

In addition to member events, Clark Society members receive an extraordinarily rich suite of benefits and exclusively designed programs including invitations to exclusive and bespoke Clark Society events in Williamstown and beyond and opportunities for early access to special exhibitions at the Clark. Click here to learn more!
