In this three-part series, curator Alexis Goodin highlights the important work of women artist-activists over time.

In the final talk of the series, Goodin discusses women artists who participated in a range of volunteer efforts during World War I, some which required a break from art-making, while others allowed them to leverage their skills as artists. Ethel Sands and Nan Hudson nursed wounded soldiers in France, while Anna Alma-Tadema volunteered for a war relief committee in England. Evelyn De Morgan protested the war through subjects she painted and exhibited. Anna Airy was commissioned to paint large canvases of munitions factories as a record of war work. A buffet breakfast follows the program.
