Manton Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs Anne Leonard discusses the Clark's exhibition of large-scale photographs by Cuban-American artist Abelardo Morell. Drawing inspiration from John Constable and Claude Monet and using his distinctive tent-camera technique, Morell captures the scenes that served as muses for these influential nineteenth-century landscape painters as they made their renowned works. Blending scenic beauty with natural details, Morell’s vivid color photographs explore our connection to art and nature. Through his integration of historical and contemporary elements, as well as the transient and enduring aspects of both the pictorial and photographic, his work will stir your mind.

Advance registration required. Capacity is limited. To register, email [email protected] or call 413 458 0425.
