THE JAMMIN' DIVAS CONCLUDE THE CLARK'S FREE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
For Immediate Release
July 19, 2013
WILLIAMSTOWN, MA—Contemporary folk group The Jammin’ Divas will perform a free concert at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute on Tuesday, July 30 at 6 pm on the Clark’s lawn. This will be the final performance of the Clark’s 2013 Summer Concert Series, which presents a variety of free concerts during the month of July. Concertgoers can bring a picnic or purchase barbecued fare. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the auditorium.
The Jammin’ Divas perform a polished blend of contemporary and classic folk music characterized by tight four-part harmonies and traditional instruments. The “divas” hail from four different countries—Ireland, Australia, Israel, and the United States—and it is the combination of these distinct musical traditions that lend the Divas their sound. Each of the Divas is a veteran performer in her own right, including Grammy-nominated Aoife Clancy (daughter of Bobby Clancy of the legendary Clancy Brothers) and Becky Chace, a well-known performer in her hometown of Providence, Rhode Island who performs more than 200 shows a year.
The Lincoln, Rhode Island paper The Valley Breeze recently raved that the Divas “draw the audience into an experience that transcends the history of three continents.”
