Williamstown, Massachusetts—Culinary historian and cookbook author Alexandra Leaf (Van Gogh's Table at the Auberge Ravoux) presents a special talk at the Clark Art Institute’s Dinner and the Show program on Saturday, September 12 at 6:30 pm. In conjunction with the Clark’s exhibition Van Gogh and Nature, the evening celebrates the food culture of Van Gogh’s France. After the author’s presentation, guests enjoy private access to the exhibition followed by a three-course French country dinner inspired by the colors and flavors of the farming community of Auvers-sur-Oise.

The menu includes a charcuterie station, medley of sautéed mushrooms, braised crispy lamb neck, and pear and almond clafouti.

Alexandra Leaf is the owner of Chocolate Tours of NYC, Inc., specializing in culinary walking tours. She is a culinary educator at Les Dames d’Escoffier and an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education, as well as an events and tour organizer at the 92nd Street Y. In addition to her publication Van Gogh's Table at the Auberge Ravoux, she is also author of The Impressionists’ Table: Recipes and Gastronomy of 19th Century France.

Dinner and the Show showcases the exceptional cuisine of Stephen Starr Events, a division of the acclaimed Starr Restaurant Group. Starr, the Clark’s culinary partner, brings creative, innovative, and artful menus to Café 7 that feature locally sourced ingredients.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts.
