JOIN FRIENDS, COLLEAGUES AT CLARK ART INSTITUTE FOR ‘CLARK AFTER HOURS’

Williamstown, Massachusetts—A supernaturally fun-filled evening at the Clark Art Institute—complete with live music, local spirits, and ghost stories in the galleries—is scheduled for Thursday, October 27 at 7 pm. Designed for young professionals, Clark After Hours features artisanal cheese from Cricket Creek Farm, craft cider provided by Hilltop Orchards, and a gourmet popcorn bar.

Tickets are $25; register by Saturday, October 22 to save $5. A free drink will be provided to participants in costume (valid ID required). To register, visit clarkart.edu or call 413 458 0524.

A sign-up sheet for gallery talks will be provided at check-in. Topics include:

“The Phantom Image” (7:30 pm): Join Curatorial Assistant Genevieve Hulley as she explores the ghostly image in Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s A Box at the Theater.

“The Real Game of Thrones” (8 pm): Meet the original Cersei Lannister, Konstanze von Habsburg (as painted by Jospeh Heintz the Elder) with Assistant Registrar Chris Hightower.

“Apocalypse and Vision” (8:30 pm): Join Curatorial Coordinator Teresa O'Toole as she investigates a space-themed tankard from 1811, more than 100 years before Sputnik was launched into space.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography.
