CLARK ART INSTITUTE PRESENTS THE METROPOLITAN OPERA’S DON GIOVANNI

Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Met: Live in HD returns to the Clark Art Institute on Saturday, November 19 at 1 pm with an encore performance of Don Giovanni in its newly renovated auditorium. Tickets are $25 ($22 Clark members; $18 students) and can be purchased online at clarkart.edu or by calling 413 458 0524. Run time is 3 hours, 45 minutes.

Three charismatic singers, Simon Keenlyside, Ildar Abdrazakov, and Mariusz Kwiecien, share the role of the title hero, who goes to hell in a dazzling coup de théâtre. The ensemble of great Mozartean singers includes Isabel Leonard, Angela Meade, Matthew Polenzani, Marina Rebeka, Erwin Schrott, Ramón Vargas, and Paul Appleby. Fabio Luisi and Plácido Domingo conduct.

The Clark’s auditorium features state-of-the art sound systems and acoustics, upgraded seating, and new support facilities that make the space fully accessible for individuals with disabilities.

Now in its eleventh season, The Met: Live in HD is the Metropolitan Opera’s Peabody and Emmy Award-winning series of live performances transmitted to more than 2,000 movie theaters in seventy countries around the world.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts.
