CLARK ART INSTITUTE OFFERS FAMILY PROGRAMS OVER SCHOOL BREAK

Williamstown, Massachusetts—Bring the family to the Clark over school vacation! There’s something for everyone, indoors and out.

Tuesday, December 27–Friday, December 30, 1–4 pm: School’s Out! Stop by the Clark each afternoon to enjoy winter activities. Learn to snowshoe, then test your new skills on our 140-acre campus before warming up inside with a mug of hot cocoa. Explore the galleries with the help of complimentary drawing pads and Looking Closely cards. Visit the open studio to make a snow globe and decorate a traditional Japanese daruma doll to help you set goals for the New Year. All activities are free; admission for children and members is always free. Complimentary admission is provided to one adult per child participating in the activities.

Friday, December 30, 11, 11 am: Enroll children in a beginners’ cooking class with Kids Can Cook! STARR Executive Chef Dan Hardy invites kids to join him for a pasta-making session, followed by a spaghetti lunch. Recommended for ages 5–10. $35 includes class, lunch, and a take-home goodie bag; space is limited. Please reserve at clarkart.edu or call 413 458 0524 by December 23.

ABOUT THE CLARK
The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. Acting as convener through its Research and Academic Program, the Clark gathers an international community of scholars to participate in a lively program of conferences, colloquia, and workshops on topics of vital importance to the visual arts. The Clark library, consisting of more than 270,000 volumes, is one of the nation’s premier art history libraries. The Clark also houses and co-sponsors the Williams College Graduate Program in the History of Art.

The Clark is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm.
