FOUR NATIONS ENSEMBLE PRESENTS BAROQUE CONCERT AT CLARK ART INSTITUTE

“Nocturne for the Kings of Spain” celebrates exhibition Splendor, Myth, and Vision

Williamstown, Massachusetts—Join The Four Nations Ensemble at the Clark Art Institute on Saturday, October 1 at 7:30 pm for “Nocturne for the Kings of Spain,” the last in a series of three evenings of Baroque music celebrating the Clark’s exhibition Splendor, Myth, and Vision: Nudes from the Prado. The exhibition is on view through October 10, 2016.

Preceding the concert from 6:00–7:30 pm, ticketholders enjoy private access to Splendor, Myth, and Vision. Tapas and drinks are available for purchase in Café 7 beginning at 6 pm.

“Nocturne for the Kings of Spain” looks at impressions of Spain that even today define Iberia. The musicians will perform works by François Couperin, George F. Handel, Domenico Scarlatti, Antonio Soler, Johann Hasse, Alessandro Melani, and Luigi Boccherini.

Vocalists include Reginald Mobley, alto, and Pascale Beaudin, soprano. Instrumentalists include Oliver Brault and Tatiana Chulochnikova, violin; Kyle Miller, viola; Loretta O’Sullivan, cello; Jaap ter Linden, cello and gamba; and Andrew Appel, harpsichord.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts.
