LAST ‘SUMMER SUNDAYS’ PROGRAM TO BE HELD AT CLARK ART INSTITUTE

Williamstown, MA—The Clark Art Institute’s final “Summer Sundays” session will be held Sunday, August 28 from 1–4 pm on the Fernández Terrace. Spend an afternoon learning about El Siglo de Oro, the Golden Age of the Spanish nobility. In addition to art-making activities, Boston-based theater troupe Pazzi Lazzi performs three original scenarios in the commedia dell’arte style of theater presented at the royal court of King Philip II of Spain, collector of many works on view in the special exhibition Splendor, Myth, and Vision: Nudes from the Prado. The exhibition is on view through October 10, 2016.

Summer Sundays invites families to learn more about the culture of sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Spain and celebrate the human body. Free with admission; certain activities are weather-dependent.

ABOUT THE CLARK
The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography.
