MET: LIVE IN HD OPERA PERFORMANCES RETURN TO CLARK ART INSTITUTE

Newly refurbished auditorium welcomes the return of popular series

Williamstown, MA—The Clark Art Institute welcomes opera lovers to its newly renovated, state-of-the-art auditorium, scheduled to open in November, as the Institute celebrates the return of The Met: Live in HD. Tickets for eight live transmissions and four encore performances go on sale to the public Monday, July 20; performances begin Saturday, November 19. Now in its eleventh season, The Met: Live in HD is the Metropolitan Opera’s Peabody and Emmy Award-winning series of live performances transmitted to theaters in seventy countries around the world. Live telecasts feature the full performance along with backstage interviews and commentary.

ABOUT THE CLARK
The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. Acting as convener through its Research and Academic Program, the Clark gathers an international community of scholars to participate in a lively program of conferences, colloquia, and workshops on topics of vital importance to the visual arts. The Clark library, with more than 240,000 volumes, is one of the nation’s premier art history libraries.
