Award-winning children’s performer Mister G to take the stage

Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Clark kicks off Williamstown’s Holiday Walk weekend with a festive concert featuring Latin Grammy award-winner and popular children’s music artist Mister G on Friday, December 2 at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. The 2015 Latin Grammy award-winner for Best Children’s Album, Mister G (Ben Gundersheimer) is a superstar in the world of family music. Called “a bilingual rockstar” by The Washington Post, and “irresistible” by People magazine, Mister G has received national critical acclaim and won three Parents’ Choice Gold Awards. His Latin Grammy-winning album, Los Animales, is an international collaboration featuring some of the major artists in the jazz, salsa, and tropical worlds, including Grammy winners Arturo O’Farrill, Marlow Rosado, and Oscar Stagnaro. Los Animales is Mister G’s third album of original bilingual songs, following ABC Fiesta (2014 Latin Grammy nominee) and Chocolalala (Parents’ Choice Gold Award winner).

A former teacher with a Masters of Education, Gundersheimer had an award-winning career as a singer/songwriter performing for adults before transitioning to children’s music. Inspired by his students (who dubbed him “Mister G”), he began writing the songs that would comprise his debut family album Pizza for Breakfast.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. The Clark is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm.
