‘MIDWINTER MOVIE MADNESS’ TO BEGIN AT CLARK ART INSTITUTE

For Immediate Release
January 19, 2016

Williamstown, Massachusetts—Escape the winter doldrums with free screenings of three movies set in sunny locales during the Clark Art Institute’s “Midwinter Movie Madness” series on Saturdays, February 6, 13, and 20. All films will be shown at 2:30 pm in the Michael Conforti Pavilion.

Kicking off the sun-drenched series on Saturday, February 6 is Mamma Mia! (PG-13, 108 min), the story of a bride-to-be trying to find her real father on a beautiful Greek island, accompanied by hit songs by the popular '70s group ABBA. On Saturday, February 13, bring the whole family to the smash animated hit Rio (G, 96 min). When Blu, a domesticated macaw from small-town Minnesota, meets the fiercely independent Jewel, he takes off on an adventure to Rio de Janeiro with the bird of his dreams. Wrapping up the series on Saturday, February 20 is a free screening of Nim’s Island (PG, 96 min). A young girl inhabits an isolated island with her scientist father; when trouble brews, she communicates with a reclusive author of the novel she's reading.
