MUSICAL PERFORMANCES ON TAP AT CLARK ART INSTITUTE

Williamstown, Massachusetts—A legendary bagpiper and a renowned chamber music trio are scheduled to perform at the Clark Art Institute in April. On Friday, April 1 at 7:30 pm, join Irish bagpiper Paddy Keenan for an evening of cabaret-style music. Known for his wild and free style, Keenan plays uillean pipes—bagpipes with bellows strapped around the waist and pumped by the elbow, producing a sweeter and quieter tone than their Scottish cousins. Keenan is recognized well beyond traditional Irish music circles as a solo artist and as a founding member of the groundbreaking Bothy Band. The popular Performing Artists in Residence series continues on Sunday, April 17 at 3 pm. Under the direction of cellist Edward Arron and pianist Jeewon Park, with violinist and Concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra David Chan, the trio presents an intimate afternoon of chamber music including works by Arvo Pärt, Camille Saint-Saëns, and Felix Mendelssohn. ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts.
