CLARK ART INSTITUTE USHERS IN HOLIDAY SEASON WITH SCREENING OF THE NUTCRACKER AND SUGAR PLUM FAIRY TEA

Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Clark Art Institute welcomes visitors of all ages to a production of The Nutcracker, screened in HD, and a sugar plum fairy tea on Sunday, December 18. The tea, featuring gourmet delicacies, will be held at 11 am in the Clark Center; tickets are $20 ($18 members) and $12 for children. The Nutcracker, a special encore presentation of the Bolshoi Ballet, will be screened at 1 pm in the auditorium. Tickets are $18 ($16 members) and $10 for children. A special combination ticket for The Nutcracker and the tea is available for $35 ($32 members) and $20 for children. Executive chef Dan Hardy of STARR Events prepares the tea menu, which includes a variety of sweet and savory tea sandwiches, mini croissants with chicken salad, and assorted holiday cookies, cream puffs, and candy. A full menu is available at clarkart.edu.

The enchanting tale of young Marie and her nutcracker prince is danced by principals of the world-renowned Bolshoi Ballet; the original performance was recorded on December 21, 2014. Staged by Russian ballet master Yuri Grigorovich, the fairytale transports children and adults alike to a world of magic and wonder.
