CLARK ART INSTITUTE INVITES FAMILIES TO ‘SUMMER SUNDAYS’

Weekly activities begin July 10

Williamstown, MA—On Sunday afternoons from July 10–August 28, families are invited to the Clark Art Institute learn more about the Golden Age of Spanish nobility and celebrate the human body, exploring themes central to the Clark’s summer exhibition, Splendor, Myth, and Vision: Nudes from the Prado.

From 1–4 pm, participants can join in activities such as body tracing, making a crown fit for a Spanish king, creating a wire sculpture, listening to Spanish music, learning Spanish dance, and more. Kicking off the series on Sunday, July 10 is a Spanish dance showcase with Small Planet Dancers, performing on the Fernández Terrace at 1:30 pm and 3 pm.

Summer Sundays are free with admission; children under 18 and members are always free. Certain activities are weather-dependent.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. The Clark is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm; open daily in July and August.
