BOSTON CIRCUS GUILD TO PERFORM AT CLARK ART INSTITUTE

Williamstown, MA—The Boston Circus Guild brings a team of professional aerialists, acrobats, and contortionists to the Clark Art Institute on Sunday, August 21 from 1–4 pm as part of the Clark’s family-friendly Summer Sundays program. Visitors can not only watch the circus experts perform daring feats of performance art, but can also learn more about how they train and prepare their bodies for such demanding high-flying stunts.
The Summer Sundays program, which continues through August 28, invites families to learn more about the Golden Age of the Spanish nobility and celebrate the human body. ABOUT THE BOSTON CIRCUS GUILD
The Boston Circus Guild is a collaborative-based membership organization of more than fifty musicians, artists, circus performers, dancers, and event producers from the New England area. The Guild’s mission is to create career opportunities for artists, musicians, and circus performers; encourage local community members to engage in performing arts; develop a community of performing artists to foster cross pollination of arts and ideas; and inspire, educate, and entertain audiences.
The Boston Circus Guild regularly performs at prestigious events and venues throughout New England including OBERON, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Peabody Essex Museum, the Museum of Science, the Artists for Humanity EpiCenter, Honk! Festival, and the Outside the Box Festival.
ABOUT THE CLARK
The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. Acting as convener through its Research and Academic Program, the Clark gathers an international community of scholars to participate in a lively program of conferences, colloquia, and workshops on topics of vital importance to the visual arts. The Clark is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm; open daily in July and August.
