HIKE AND LEARN ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY AND LAND STEWARDSHIP AT CLARK ART INSTITUTE

Williamstown, Massachusetts—Gary Hilderbrand, principal landscape architect for Reed Hilderbrand LLC, and Matthew Noyes, grounds manager of the Clark Art Institute, lead a hike exploring the land management, sustainability, and stewardship initiatives taking place at the Clark on Saturday, September 24 at 10:30 am. The hike is part of a series related to the Clark’s summer exhibition, Sensing Place: Reflecting on Stone Hill, on view at the Lunder Center at Stone Hill through October 10.
Surrounded by 140 acres of expansive lawns, meadows, and walking trails, the Clark is located in a setting of profound natural beauty. The institute’s recently revitalized landscape architecture and design, led by Hilderbrand, included a plan to preserve and sustain the Clark’s natural resources for future generations.
The moderate hike is open to all ages; participants should wear shoes appropriate for varied terrain. Meet at the entrance of the Lunder Center at Stone Hill at 10:30 am. Free with paid admission.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts.
