CLARK ART INSTITUTE PARTNERS WITH IS183 TO OFFER BLOCK PRINTING CLASS

Williamstown, Massachusetts—Instructor Michael Vincent Bushy of IS183 Art School of the Berkshires leads a three-part block printing class at the Clark Art Institute on Saturdays, March 19, March 26, and April 2 from 1:30–4:30 pm in Hunter Studio, located in the Lunder Center at Stone Hill on the Clark’s campus. Block printing is a technique of relief printing popular around the world for both its accessibility and adaptability. In this class, students create two-color block images and print them using traditional Japanese techniques. Students also have the opportunity to visit the Clark’s galleries together to view and discuss the prints on view in the Japanese Impressions exhibition.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts.
