FREE ANIME FILM SERIES AT CLARK ART INSTITUTE CONTINUES WITH “WHEN MARNIE WAS THERE”

Williamstown, Massachusetts—Anime Wednesdays, the Clark Art Institute’s free film series, continues on Wednesday, February 15 at 6 pm with When Marnie Was There (PG, 2014; 1 hr 45 mins). The film will be shown in the auditorium, located in the Manton Research Center.
Shy, artistic Anna moves to the seaside and befriends a mysterious young girl named Marnie, who may or may not be real. The girls form a unique friendship that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. Directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi.
Anime Wednesdays celebrates the contemporary art form of Japanese animation. Films are from Studio Ghibli, a leading Japanese animation film studio. Upcoming films in the series include From Up On Poppy Hill (February 22) and Only Yesterday (March 1). Visit clarkart.edu for more details.
ABOUT THE CLARK
The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts.
