ART LOVERS: JOIN IN CONVERSATION, LUNCH AT CLARK ART INSTITUTE

Williamstown, Massachusetts—Take a closer look at a special object in the Clark Art Institute’s collection during Looking and Lunching, a session of focused investigation and friendly discussion with fellow art lovers, on Thursday, January 19 at 12 pm in the Clark Center. Adele Rodbell, collector and donor of the Rodbell Family Collection of Japanese prints, invites visitors to take a closer look at Utagawa Hiroshige’s Plum Estate, Kameido from One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, on view in the special exhibition Japanese Impressions: Color Woodblock Prints from the Rodbell Family Collection.

Tickets are $20 ($15 members) and include admission to the galleries, careful observation and informal discussion of the print, and lunch provided by Café 7. A century of Japanese color woodblock prints is represented in Japanese Impressions, on view through April 2. The exhibition features selections from a gift in 2014 of sixty-three woodblock prints dating from 1832–1971 from the Rodbell Family Collection.


ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts.
