CLARK ART INSTITUTE PRESENTS NATIONAL THEATRE OF LONDON PRODUCTION OF “SAINT JOAN”

Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Clark Art Institute presents the National Theatre of London production of George Bernard Shaw’s classic play Saint Joan on Saturday, March 4 at 12:30 pm. The encore performance, recorded live at the Donmar Warehouse on February 16, 2017, stars Gemma Arterton in the title role; Josie Rourke directs. Run time is four hours. The play follows the life and trial of a young country girl who declares a bloody mission to drive the English from France. As one of the first Protestants and nationalists, she threatens the very fabric of the feudal society and the Catholic Church across Europe.
