CLARK ART INSTITUTE ANNOUNCES FREE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

Williamstown, MA—Tuesday night concerts are back at the Clark! During the month of July, a variety of performing artists present a series of free outdoor concerts on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm. The concerts will be held on the lawn adjacent to the Clark Center; in the event of rain, they will be held in the auditorium. Families are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and picnic meals. Refreshments are available for purchase.

This summer’s lineup includes:

Across the Pond, July 4: Get ready to twist and shout on Independence Day with the Bennington-based Beatles cover band as they return to the Clark by popular demand. It’s the most welcome British invasion to hit America’s shores!

Samantha Farrell, July 11: Discover “probably the best female singer-songwriter you still haven’t heard of” (NBC Los Angeles). Performing songs from her latest album September Sun (2016) and more, Farrell combines jazz, folk, pop, and poetry into her originals, standards, and fresh takes on popular song covers.

Sydney Worthley, July 17: The rising young singer/songwriter from the Albany, NY area celebrates the release of her debut album Strong with music that incorporates elements of pop, country, rock, and folk. Winner of the 2014 Capital Region Teen Idol competition, Worthley is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter with a sound all her own.

Capital Brass, July 25: Come prepared for fun as the lively sounds of Capital Brass ends our summer series on a high note. This swinging brass ensemble plays everything from Jimmy Buffett to John Philip Sousa. Good times and great sounds are guaranteed!

ABOUT THE CLARK
The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. The Clark is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm; open daily in July and August.
