VALENTINE’S ‘DAY OF LOVE’ PLANNED AT CLARK ART INSTITUTE

Williamstown, Massachusetts—Bring your beloved to the Clark for an early celebration of Valentine’s Day on Sunday, February 12 with a host of activities for the whole family.

Brunch: STARR Executive Chef Dan Hardy prepares gourmet brunch at 10 am and 11:45 am in the Michael Conforti Pavilion. The menu includes corned beef hash, eggs benedict, carved turkey, farro salad, mixed green salad, assorted pastries, fresh fruit, fresh-squeezed orange and grapefruit juice, coffee, tea, and more. A cappella music: Williams College a cappella groups The Ephlats and The Springstreeters perform at 11:30 am and 2 pm, respectively, on the lower level of the Clark Center. Performances are free.

Roméo et Juliette: The Met: Live in HD presents an encore performance of the world’s most famous love story, featuring the electrifying team of Vittorio Grigolo and Diana Damrau in the starring roles, in the Clark auditorium at 1 pm. The new production of Gounod’s opera, based on the Shakespeare play, is conducted by Gianandrea Noseda. Run time is 3 hours, 30 minutes. All-day activities: Write a love letter to your favorite painting, join in a scavenger hunt (prizes awarded), and snap a picture in the Goddess of Love photo booth.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts.
