CLARK ART INSTITUTE TO AIR LONDON NATIONAL THEATRE PRODUCTION OF ‘CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF’

December 14, 2018

Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Clark Art Institute broadcasts the London National Theatre’s production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof on Saturday, January 5 at 1 pm. Tickets are $18 ($16 Clark members) and may be purchased online at clarkart.edu or by calling the box office at 413 458 0524. Run time is 3 hours, 5 minutes.

Following his smash hit production of A Streetcar Named Desire, Benedict Andrews’s “thrilling revival” (The New York Times) of Tennessee Williams’s twentieth-century masterpiece stars Sienna Miller (American Sniper, Foxcatcher) as Maggie and Jack O’Connell (Unbroken) as Brick. Veteran actor Colm Meaney breathes new life into the role of Big Daddy.

On a steamy night in Mississippi, a Southern family gathers at their cotton plantation to celebrate Big Daddy’s birthday. The scorching heat is almost as oppressive as the lies they tell. Brick and Maggie dance round the secrets and sexual tensions that threaten to destroy their marriage. With the future of the family at stake, which version of the truth is real—and which will win out?

Please note that this performance is recommended for ages 15 and up. This is an encore presentation of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. All ticket sales are non-refundable.
