CLARK ART INSTITUTE TO AIR METROPOLITAN OPERA’S ‘CENDRILLON,’ LAST PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON

Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Clark Art Institute concludes the Metropolitan Opera’s “Live in HD” series on Saturday, April 28 at 12:55 pm with a high-definition screening of Jules Massenet’s Cendrillon (Cinderella). The screening will be held in the Clark’s auditorium, located in the Manton Research Center. Laurent Pelly directs the Met premiere of Massenet’s enchanting opera, based on the Cinderella fairy tale. Joyce DiDonato stars in the title role. The cast also stars Alice Coote as Prince Charmant, Stephanie Blythe as the evil stepmother Madame de la Haltière, Kathleen Kim as the Fée, and Laurent Naouri as Pandolfe. Bertrand de Billy conducts.

Run time is 2 hours, 47 minutes.

Now in its twelfth season, The Met: Live in HD is the Metropolitan Opera’s Peabody and Emmy Award-winning series of live performances transmitted to theaters in seventy countries around the world. Live telecasts feature the full performance along with backstage interviews and commentary.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts.
