CLARK ART INSTITUTE TO BROADCAST LONDON NATIONAL THEATRE’S ‘ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA’

Williamstown, Massachusetts—Shakespeare’s famous tragedy, Antony and Cleopatra, airs at the Clark Art Institute on Sunday, March 10 at 1 pm. Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo play the famous fated couple in a production called “terrific and epic… filled with passion and delusion” (The Guardian). Simon Godwin directs.

Caesar and his assassins are dead. General Mark Antony now rules alongside his fellow defenders of Rome. But at the fringes of a war-torn empire the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra and Mark Antony have fallen fiercely in love.

Tickets are $18 ($16 Clark members). Run time is 3 hours, 30 minutes. Please note that this production contains strobe lighting. This is an encore presentation. All ticket sales are non-refundable.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm; open daily in July and August. Admission is $20; free year-round for Clark members, children 18 and younger, and students with valid ID.
