CLARK ART INSTITUTE OFFERS FREE DRAWING SESSIONS BEGINNING THIS FALL

Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Clark Art Institute is offering free drawing sessions for artists of all skill levels every month, beginning Friday, October 11, at 10:30 am.
The hour-long open-practice sessions will be held in the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper at the Clark. Each month explores a different theme through a related selection of prints, drawings, and photographs from the Clark’s collection:
October 11 – Trees
November 8 – Nocturnes
December 13 – Ornamental Design
January 10 – Architecture
February 14 – Double Portraits
March 13 – Costume
Participants may practice fundamentals and explore new ideas or take part in the artistic tradition of copying earlier works. Basic materials are provided. Artists bringing their own supplies should note that only graphite pencils are allowed in the Study Center and museum galleries.

ABOUT THE CLARK
The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. The Clark, which has a three-star rating in the Michelin Green Guide, is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Its 140-acre campus includes miles of hiking and walking trails through woodlands and meadows, providing an exceptional experience of art in nature. Galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm; open daily in July and August. Admission is $20; free year-round for Clark members, children 18 and younger, and students with valid ID.
