CLARK ART INSTITUTE ANNOUNCES FINAL FREE SUNDAY OF THE SEASON

Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Clark Art Institute holds its final “First Sunday Free” program of the season on Sunday, May 5 with a day celebrating the summer ahead. Admission to the galleries is free all day; free activities related to the Clark’s summer exhibitions and programs will be held from 1–4 pm.

In anticipation of the special exhibition Renoir: The Body, The Senses (opening June 8), a figure-drawing session with a live model will be held in the Museum Pavilion. Visitors are also invited to relax by the reflecting pools and create an abstract landscape inspired by the artwork of Ida O’Keeffe, who is the subject of the summer exhibition Ida O’Keeffe: Escaping Georgia’s Shadow (opening July 4). A special live performance will be held outdoors on Stone Hill, and at 2 pm in the auditorium, New York Times bestselling author B.A. Shapiro holds a free book talk and signing in celebration of her latest novel, The Collector's Apprentice.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. The Clark, which has a three-star rating in the Michelin Green Guide, is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm; open daily in July and August. Admission is $20; free year-round for Clark members, children 18 and younger, and students with valid ID. Free admission is available through several programs, including First Sundays Free; a local library pass program; EBT Card to Culture; and Blue Star Museums.
