Williamstown, Massachusetts—The Clark Art Institute’s popular Looking and Lunching program will be held Thursday, October 17, at 12 pm. This month, Andrew Kensett (Williams Graduate Program in the History of Art, class of 2020) discusses a newly acquired cache of portraits by Modernist photographer Berenice Abbott. While living in Paris in the 1920s, Abbott photographed luminaries such as James Joyce, Edna St. Vincent Millay, and Coco Chanel.
The Looking and Lunching program provides an opportunity to take a closer look at the Clark’s collection through a focused half-hour discussion on one work or group of works, followed by continued conversation over lunch with the presenter and fellow art lovers in the Clark’s Carswell Room. Free with gallery admission. Plan to arrive early to pre-order and purchase your meal, or bring your own lunch. Limited seating available. Meet at the admissions desk in the Clark Center.
