CLARK ART INSTITUTE PRESENTS MONET’S ART ON SCREEN

Williamstown, Massachusetts—Voyage through the timeless masterpieces of the genius of one of the founders of Impressionism, Claude Monet, through the film Water Lilies of Monet. The film will be screened in the Clark’s auditorium, located in the Manton Research Center, on Saturday, December 28, at 2 pm.

An art-world disruptor at the turn of the twentieth century whose obsession with capturing light and water broke all convention, Monet revolutionized the art of his time. The film takes viewers on in-depth, exclusive tours led by Monet scholars of the museums that house the largest collections of the prolific artist’s paintings of lilies, including the Musée Marmottan Monet, the Musée d’Orsay, and the Musée de l’Orangerie and its world-famous panels. The film also takes viewers to Giverny, France, the site of Monet’s house and gardens and the source of inspiration for his fascination with painting the water lilies in his pond.

ABOUT THE CLARK

The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions internationally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts.
