CLARK ART INSTITUTE AIRS LONDON NATIONAL THEATRE PRODUCTION OF THE CRUCIBLE

Williamstown, Massachusetts—In celebration of the Manton Foundation’s commitment to British art, the Clark Art Institute presents performances from London’s National Theatre, rounding out with an updated production of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible (3 hours, 15 minutes). The Clark airs this broadcast on Saturday, March 4 at 1 pm in its auditorium, located in the Manton Research Center.

Speak of the devil and he appears. A witch hunt is beginning in Salem. Raised to be seen and not heard, a group of young women suddenly find their words have a terrible power. As a climate of fear spreads through the community, private vendettas fuel public accusations and soon the truth itself is on trial.  Arthur Miller’s gripping parable of power and its abuse returns in an urgent new staging by director Lyndsey Turner (Under Milk Wood, Top Girls).

Tickets $18, $16 for members, $14 for students, and $10 for children under 15. To purchase tickets, visit clarkart.edu/events or call the box office at 413 458 0524. All sales are final.
