CLARK ART INSTITUTE PRESENTS
THE CORNING GLASS MOBILE HOT SHOP
Williamstown, Massachusetts—On August 5–11, the Clark Art Institute hosts the Corning Museum of Glass Mobile Hot Shop in conjunction with the Institute’s exhibition Fragile Beauty: Treasures from the Corning Museum of Glass. The Mobile Hot Shop uses unique equipment to recreate a state-of-the-art studio environment, bringing the artistry and education of glassmaking straight to the public. Every day from 10 am to 5 pm, the Corning Museum glassmiths demonstrate complex hot glassmaking techniques in free demonstrations that are sure to excite all ages! The Mobile Hot Shop will be located adjacent to the Clark’s main parking lot.
Demonstrations last from thirty to sixty minutes. Monday, August 5 through Thursday, August 8, they begin every hour on the half-hour, with the first starting at 10:30 am and the last at 4:30 pm on Monday and Tuesday and the first starting at 10:30 am and the last at 3:30 pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10 demonstrations take place every forty-five minutes, with the first starting at 10:15 am and the last at 4:15 pm. On Sunday, August 11, demonstrations take place every forty-five minutes, with the first starting at 10:15 am and the last at 2:00 pm, followed at 2:45 pm by a special two-hour demonstration featuring virtuoso glass artist Josh Simpson.

ABOUT THE CLARK
The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. The Clark, which has a three-star rating in the Michelin Green Guide, is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Its 140-acre campus includes miles of hiking and walking trails through woodlands and meadows, providing an exceptional experience of art in nature. Galleries are open 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Sunday from September through June, and daily in July and August. Open 10 am to 9 pm on Wednesdays from June 19 through September 25, with free admission from 5 to 9 pm. Admission is free January through March and is $20 from March through December; admission is free year-round for Clark members, all visitors age 21 and under, and students with a valid student ID.
