CLARK ART INSTITUTE HOSTS EARTH WALK WITH DOGS AND PRESENTS A POP-UP EXHIBITION OF WORKS INSPIRED BY DOGS AND NATURE
Williamstown, Massachusetts—On Friday, April 19, the Clark Art Institute offers free activities as part of its April School Vacation Week programming. At 10 am, the Clark hosts Earth Walk with Dogs, offering three walks through its trails, ranging in difficulty. From 11 am–1 pm, the Clark presents a pop-up display of dogs and nature-themed works on paper in the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper, located in the Manton Research Center.
Earth Walk with Dogs: April 19, 10 am
Celebrate nature by going on a walk with dogs from Berkshire Humane Society. Three walks through the Clark’s trails are offered, ranging in difficulty. The first, Stroll to Crystal, is a leisurely mile-long walk that follows the Nan Path and Pasture Trail to Thomas Schütte’s Crystal, with a return via the Meadow Walk. The second, Stone Bench Trek, is a moderate, one-and-a-half-mile hike that follows Stone Hill Road Trail, Gate Walk, and Stone Bench Trail, and concludes with a scenic stroll down Meadow Walk. The third walk, Woodland Challenge Loop, is a two-and-a-quarter-mile journey navigating Howard Path, Carl Reidel Trail, Hopkins-Gale Trail, and Woodland Trail, concluding with a walk along the Nan Path.

Print Room Pop-Up: Dogs and Nature: April 19, 11 am–1 pm
Inspired by the morning’s Earth Walk with Dogs, enjoy a special display of works on paper in the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper showcasing landscapes and nature scenes, as well as the timelessness of dogs as an artistic subject throughout the centuries.
All April School Vacation Week activities are free. Admission is always free for students of all ages (with a valid student ID) and anyone age 21 and under. For more information, visit clarkart.edu/events.
ABOUT THE CLARK
The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Opened in 1955, the Clark houses exceptional European and American paintings and sculpture, extensive collections of master prints and drawings, English silver, and early photography. The Clark, which has a three-star rating in the Michelin Green Guide, is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Its 140-acre campus includes miles of hiking and walking trails through woodlands and meadows, providing an exceptional experience of art in nature. Galleries are open 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Sunday, from September through June, and daily in July and August. Admission is free January through March and is $20 from March through December; admission is free year-round for Clark members, all visitors age 21 and under, and students with a valid student ID. Free admission is also available through several programs, including First Sundays Free; a local library pass program; and EBT Card to Culture.
