CLARK ART INSTITUTE PRESENTS WORKS ON PAPER TALK: “EDGAR DEGAS BONUS SELECTION”

Williamstown, Massachusetts—On Wednesday, August 21 at 1 pm, the Clark Art Institute’s Manton Study Center for Works on Paper hosts the third of this summer’s Works on Paper Highlights Talks. Anne Leonard, Manton Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs, presents "Edgar Degas Bonus Selection." In the talk she describes the selection process for the Degas exhibition on view in the adjacent Eugene V. Thaw Gallery and traces the artist’s progression from early academic training to artistic maturity as an unrivaled draughtsman and printmaker.

With masterpieces of graphic art from the fifteenth through the early twentieth century, the Clark’s collection of prints, drawings, and photographs is a veritable treasure trove. The final Works on Paper Highlights Talk, "Views of Venice," takes place on Wednesday, August 28 at 1 pm and is presented by William Satloff, graduate intern in the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper.

Free. Capacity is limited. Seating is first-come, first-served. The Manton Study Center for Works on Paper is located next to the Edgar Degas: Multi-Media Artist in the Age of Impressionism exhibition in the Manton Research Center.

ABOUT THE CLARK
The Clark Art Institute, located in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, is one of a small number of institutions globally that is both an art museum and a center for research, critical discussion, and higher education in the visual arts. Galleries are open 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Sunday from September through June, and daily in July and August. Open 10 am to 9 pm on Wednesdays from June 19 through September 25, with free admission from 5 to 9 pm. Admission is free January through March and is $20 from March through December; admission is free year-round for Clark members, all visitors age 21 and under, and students with a valid student ID.
